A possible screenshot from an early version of the next BioShock game has appeared online. Journalists said they received the image from a visual effects artist at 2K, but did not name him to maintain confidentiality.
The frame is taken from the 2021 build and shows a ricochet shotgun (Ricochet Shotgun) along with several interface elements, including plasmid/energy drink icons – there is no “magic” in the protagonist’s second hand.
The protagonist’s gaze reveals to the viewer a strange structure resembling a tower and topped with a luminous ball, which MP1st journalists compare to a miniature Sun.
At the bottom of the screen it is mentioned that this is a screenshot from the Parkside demo – journalist Jason Schreier said that BioShock 4 was being created under this code name at the end of 2019.
There have been no official announcements about BioShock 4 for several years. 2K mentioned the existence of the game in the context of the opening of the Cloud Chamber studio, which is developing it. In July, Cloud Chamber posted 29 vacancies, indicating an active development phase for the project.
