Nvidia has confirmed the issue with missing ROPs. The company noted that the problem affects not only the flagship GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5090D, but also the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. Interestingly, users have not yet complained about the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti with missing ROPs. Earlier, it was reported that some owners of GeForce RTX 5090/RTX 5090D graphics cards from Zotac, MSI, Gigabyte and Manli complained that their accelerators' GPUs lack rasterization units. Instead of the required 176 ROPs, their cards have only 168 of these units. Since ROPs are one of the key components of a graphics card, their absence negatively affects the GPU's performance. Given how scarce the supply of RTX 50 GPUs is, users of defective accelerators will have to wait a long time for a replacement. ...

Publisher Devolver Digital and the developer of the acrobatic action game My Friend Pedro from the Swedish studio DeadToast Entertainment have presented a new joint project - the precision platformer Shotgun Cop Man. The platform shooter Shotgun Cop Man is preparing a simple police mission for us: descend into hell and arrest the Devil himself. It is clear that this task is simple in its formulation, but not in its execution: hordes of evil demons are already at the ready, and the path to the finale is strewn with traps. And we have to make precise jumps, simultaneously shooting back at enemies and defeating bosses. For players who find the descent into hell too easy, special modes have been prepared: "No Damage", "Speedrun" and "All Killed". The developers are also preparing a level ed...

Musk Announces Launch of xAI Gaming Studio

Another unexpected piece of news is that xAI is going to launch a game studio that will develop projects with artificial intelligence. "We are launching an AI game studio. If you want to develop games with AI, join us!" - Musk announced. No further details have been released about the nature of the studio itself, its concept, the direction in which xAI plans to develop, or what it will be developing. The model has already demonstrated the ability to generate simple 2D games. One user posted a test case where Grok 3 created a basic version of Bubble Trouble with physics, collisions, and a simple interface. However, it turned out that the model cannot yet correctly reproduce the retro sound effects described in the user request. The biggest challenge for the new studio, howeve...
