Recall that Epic Games financed the development of Alan Wake 2 and "seriously" invested in marketing. As a result, when it was released in the fall of 2023, the PC version of the game turned out to be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. The timing of the exclusivity was not officially announced, but ahead of the premiere, Epic Games Store head Steve Allison mentioned that Alan Wake 2 would not appear on Steam for a "long time" after its release on EGS.
