A number of users complain about black screens or complete inoperability of new cards. Some blame the driver, others – problems with PCIe 5.0. It is important that Nvidia has already started an investigation.
According to one version, the problem is related to the Nvidia GeForce Game Ready 572.16 WHQL drivers. This hypothesis is confirmed by the fact that the latest update has also started to receive complaints from owners of Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series video cards. In cases where the problem is really related to the drivers, it can be solved by completely removing the package using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and then reinstalling.
The problem is complicated by the fact that the symptoms of failures reported by users vary, and they manifest themselves in different models of video cards: many complaints have been received from owners of Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 – most often it is reported that the video cards refuse to display an image or work at all. Nvidia confirmed to PC Gamer that the company is currently “investigating issues with the RTX 50 series that have been reported.” In some cases, video cards began to display a black screen when changing the resolution or refresh rate, in others, the image disappeared under heavy load, and in others, the problem was associated with connecting several monitors to a PC.
