Images have been published on Reddit that allegedly show the successor to the popular Nintendo Switch gaming console. The new model has an updated design and improved technical specifications.
According to the available information, the Switch 2 will be powered by an Arm processor from Nvidia, which uses a new graphics processor based on the Ampere architecture. In addition, the device will receive 12 GB of DDR5-7500 RAM and a 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The new Nintendo portable console will be larger than the current generation model, as confirmed by leaked photos and 3D models. The developers will equip it with an 8-inch display, which will increase the overall size of the device. The design also includes a stand located on the back of the case.
The Switch 2’s larger size could allow it to have a larger battery and a more efficient cooling system than its predecessor. This could help improve the device’s battery life or allow the console to draw more power to provide more processing power without sacrificing battery life.
In May of this year, Nintendo officially confirmed that it would announce a new console before the end of the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2025.
