Valve Announces Nominees for The Steam Awards 2024

Valve has announced the nominees for The Steam Awards 2024. The list of finalists includes games nominated by Steam users. The games that received the most nominations were Black Myth: Wukong, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Balatro, and Helldivers 2. Valve reminds us that games can only be nominated for two categories — Game of the Year/VR Game of the Year and one other — but the list of Steam Awards 2024 finalists (repeatedly) breaks that rule. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Black Myth: Wukong, Balatro, and Helldivers 2 are nominated in three categories (Game of the Year and two others), while Hades II, the Silent Hill 2 remake, and Satisfactory are nominated in two (outside of Game of the Year). Nvidia App Caught Slowing Down Video Cards

The replacement for GeForce Experience, called NVIDIA App, still needs some work, according to reviews. Gamers complain that the NVIDIA App, which will replace GeForce Experience in November 2024, can significantly affect gaming performance. Users are prompted to install the Nvidia App the first time they launch GeForce Experience after downloading the GeForce Game Ready Driver 566.14 package, which began rolling out last month. Users can choose not to download the software, but it's important to understand that there will be no new versions of GeForce Experience going forward. «Gwent» To Return in The Witcher 4

In between monster-slaying, Ciri, the protagonist of The Witcher 4, will be able to play cards. In a conversation with Easy Allies, The Witcher 4 developers confirmed that Gwent will appear in the game. The potential appearance of Gwent in The Witcher 4 was discussed by development director Sebastian Kalemba and executive producer Małgorzata Mitręga in a guest interview with Easy Allies. When asked if Kalemba and Mitręga could say anything about the prospect of adding Gwent to The Witcher 4 (or at least hint at it), the pair did not say anything specific, but left a number of unambiguous hints. Publisher Nordcurrent Labs and studio River End Games have released an extended trailer for the stealth tactics game Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream. The video contains both gameplay footage and excerpts from richly animated cutscenes. Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream will take place in Eriksholm, a large northern city, the modeling of which was inspired by Scandinavia at the beginning of the last century.
