Veterans Of Electronic Arts Announces The Basketball Arcade “The Run: Got Next”

Play by Play, a studio founded in 2021 by former Electronic Arts producer Scott Probst, has announced the street basketball game The Run: Got Next. It will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC in 2025, and its page is already open on Steam.

The Run: Got Next is being positioned by the developers as a spiritual successor to NBA Street, EA’s 2000s 3-on-3 street basketball franchise, and “a sports game like they don’t make anymore.”

Gameplay on the site will focus on unique characters with their own play styles. The debut trailer for The Run: Got Next showcases three diverse heroes – Spin Cycle, High Wire and Zamboni.

Users, together with friends or alone, will have to form a team of assorted basketball players, play on legendary courts around the world and try to extend their squad’s winning streak as long as possible.

The creators of The Run: Got Next are not striving for a serious simulation. Players will enjoy simple and dynamic arcade gameplay based on street basketball culture.
