RPG shooter Witchfire From The Creators Of Painkiller Has Been Released In Steam Early Access

As promised, on September 23, the fantasy role-playing shooter Witchfire from the Polish studio The Astronauts (The Vanishing of Ethan Carter), founded by the former developers of Painkiller and Bulletstorm, was released in early access on Steam.

At the start of Steam Early Access, the game is compatible with EGS saves, works on Steam Deck, supports controllers and achievements. So far, the project is only in English, but this will be fixed closer to the full release.

Witchfire is a single-player RPG shooter set in a dark fantasy setting. Players take on the role of a sinner who has become a witch hunter. He must go on expeditions to destroy enemies and upgrade his equipment to progress through the story. Witchfire has roguelike elements, but the developers emphasize that their game is a traditional single-player shooter with high replayability.

Witchfire Early Access kicked off on September 20, 2023, on EGS, with a full release planned for late 2025. The developers recently revealed how they plan to improve the game on the way to the final version.
