Ubisoft’s work on a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was almost certainly confirmed this summer when Yves Guillemot confirmed updates to older titles in the series. However, Ubisoft’s recent misadventures and the delayed release of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows may have led to the idea that the remake will take longer than expected.
According to the information of the reliable insider Tom Henderson and the Insider Gaming portal, the production of the updated version of the pirate action game with an open world has already advanced relatively far.
The gameplay video of the remake sent to the editorial office of Insider Gaming (not subject to publication) shows Edward Kenway controlling the ship on an advanced version of the Anvil engine, which was the basis for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
At least until the recent delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Obsidian’s remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was supposedly scheduled for release in November 2025.
Around the same time, according to Henderson, the multiplayer Invictus should also be released, while the mobile Jade is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
