At the end of August, the creators of the famous metroidvania Blasphemous from the Spanish studio The Game Kitchen announced the isometric stealth tactics The Stone of Madness. A couple of hours ago, the authors published a new story trailer, in which they revealed the exact release date of the game.
According to the plot, five prisoners of a Jesuit monastery, which became a home for the mentally ill and an Inquisition prison, join forces to escape. They will have to fight their fears, maintain their sanity and uncover the secrets of the monastery.
Players will control all five heroes, combining their skills to cast spells, destroy targets, distract enemies and explore the world, as well as take care of the mental health of the characters (each has their own traumas and fears).
They promise two campaigns with their own storylines, goals and surprises, a daily cycle, consequences of actions taken and graphics inspired by the works of the 18th-century Spanish artist Francisco Goya.
The Stone of Madness will be released on January 28, 2025 on PC (Steam, EGS), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
