Sales of the adventure game Dave the Diver have surpassed 5 million copies, as reported by the developers from Mintrocket studio, a division of Nexon. They thanked fans for their love and support, noting the incredible success of their project.
“Wow! So many people joined Dave’s adventure in the Deep Blue. We are grateful for all the love we have received and we will continue to create even more exciting content for our divers,” Mintrocket wrote in a message to fans.
Dave the Diver invites the player to try on the role of Dave, who explores the sea depths and catches fish during the day, and runs a sushi bar in the evening. There are eccentric characters and a story full of jokes, parodies and humorous scenes. Gamers appreciated the developers’ efforts, as evidenced by the “extremely positive” reviews on Steam (rating 97%).
The game was released in 2023 and immediately gained popularity due to its original combination of genres and exciting gameplay. In 2024, its sales had already exceeded 4 million copies, and the game director stated that he intended to turn Dave the Diver into a multiverse and start a new franchise.
