Insomniac Games employees have long since cancelled the development of a multiplayer game about Spider-Man, but fans did not want to put up with this decision. Instead of the official title, they began producing their own modification, designed to add multiplayer to the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man.
An unnamed team, with the participation of modder tiffsomniac, who specializes in games from the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, has decided to introduce support for a multiplayer component into the Marvel’s Spider-Man remaster on PC.
Recall that at the release of the PC version, traces of a network game were found in the Marvel’s Spider-Man code, including the corresponding category of characters and scripts for a two-person co-op, but the modders will go even further.
The team’s intentions are demonstrated by the recently released trailer for the Spider-Man Multiplayer mod. The video was posted on the YouTube channel tiffsomniac and features a joint exploration of New York and beating up of thugs.
Finally, the fans added that they are planning to implement a similar modification for the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which will be released on January 30.
