
The developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 from the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World have released a large patch for the shooter, version 1.2, which makes changes to all aspects of the game, including balance, quests, the A-Life 2.0 system and locations.
Update 1.2 is now out on PC and Xbox consoles. The patch includes over 1,700 fixes and improvements in all aspects of the game, including balance, locations, quests, performance, and the A-Life 2.0 life simulation system. In particular, NPC behavior when searching corpses has been improved — they can now pick up better equipment from the dead and switch to more powerful weapons — as well as the shooting accuracy of AI characters.
Other notable changes:
- Fixed over 100EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION errors that were causing crashes;
- Fixed a memory leak when sorting items;
- Improved the transition from cutscenes to gameplay;
- Many fixes in story and side missions;
- Added crouching parkour animations;
- Added NPC death animations from anomalies;
- Improved the synchronization of NPC footsteps and sounds;
- Added the ability to bind keys for the journal and notes;
- Added animations for changing fire mode when the item selector is open;
- Improved the upgrade menu interface;
- Almost 100 fixes have been made to audio, cutscenes, and voice acting.
Earlier, GSC Game World shared good news about the success of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The game has already paid for itself and started to make a profit. Information about the number of copies sold is not specified, but it is known that as of the end of November, the number of copies purchased reached one million.
