The Legendary Flappy Bird is Back on Android as an Epic Games Store Exclusive

It’s been ten years since the hit Flappy Bird disappeared from digital shelves, but the bird is back! This time, the legendary game is back as an Epic Games Store exclusive on Android, developed by a new team called the Flappy Bird Foundation.

The Flappy Bird Foundation, which has acquired the rights to the game, announced the release of Flappy Bird on Android devices via the mobile version of the Epic Games Store. The release was accompanied by a 35-second trailer. According to the press release, this version of Flappy Bird is monetized exclusively through advertising/in-game purchases (various helmets for the character) and “will never contain any Web3 elements.”

The Flappy Bird Foundation plans to release Flappy Bird on browsers, PC, consoles, and iOS. It is reported that new content (worlds, characters, themes) will be added to the game throughout 2025.

Flappy Bird was a worldwide hit before Nguyen himself pulled the game from stores in 2014 due to it being “too popular.” Years later, the brand returned, but in a different form and under a different owner.
