Release Date and New Trailer for Old School Horror Heartworm

American developer Vincent Adinolfi, with the support of publishing house DreadXP, announced the release date of his old-school psychological survival horror called Heartworm.

As it became known, Heartworm will go on sale on July 31 for PC (Steam). The announcement was accompanied by a rich gameplay trailer lasting just over a minute.

The main character is Sam. Having lost her grandfather, she cannot cope with grief and finds a mysterious forum on the Internet that promises reunification with the dead. In pursuit of this chance, she goes to a lonely house in the mountains – and discovers that sometimes the answers to questions hide something more terrible than death itself.

The gameplay combines a fixed camera and a third-person perspective, offering a choice of modern or “tank” control schemes. Instead of weapons, there is a camera with which you can defend yourself from enemies and solve the mysteries of this world. The project is based on exploration, classic puzzles and limited resources.

Heartworm offers four to six hours of playthrough, multiple endings, atmospheric music and optional retro filters that stylize the game in the early 3D era.

They promise multiple endings, pre-rendered and in-game cutscenes, PS1-era graphics on the Unity engine, modern controls, and a creepy soundtrack.
