There was a surprise announcement at the end of today’s Nintendo Direct. It turns out that Resident Evil Requiem will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day as the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series versions — February 27, 2026. The latest trailer shows footage of the main character, who will have to face the terrifying monster from the previously published previews.
As it became known, Resident Evil Requiem will go on sale for Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time as PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S – on February 27, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a new gameplay trailer. The two-minute video demonstrates Resident Evil Requiem running on Nintendo Switch 2. The difference with how the game looks on PC can be seen in the simultaneously published multi-platform version of the trailer.
In addition, on the same day as Resident Evil Requiem, two previous numbered games in the series, Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village, will be released on Nintendo Switch 2. All three are based on the RE Engine. Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village will appear on Nintendo Switch 2 in complete editions: Resident Evil 7 with all add-ons (including Not a Hero), and Resident Evil Village with the Winters’ Expansion add-on and the Trauma Pack.
And the creators of Resident Evil Requiem spoke about the influence of the seventh part on the game and the return to Raccoon City. The developers want to show the iconic places of the destroyed city.
