Publisher Daedalic Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer for The Occultist, a dark adventure horror game with survival elements.
In The Occultist, paranormal investigator Alan Rebels is forced to travel to the mysterious island of Godstone, formerly a haven for a terrifying cult. The protagonist attempts to unravel the mystery of his father’s disappearance, who was born and spent his entire childhood there.
On Godstone, the protagonist has only a “mysterious pendulum of unknown origin.” Upon arriving, Alan realizes he won’t see any living people: players will be met only by foggy streets, maddening buildings, and sinister souls.
In the trailer, the protagonist wanders through atmospheric locations (a church, an amusement park, a multi-story mansion), solves puzzles using a pendulum and improvised objects, and also comes into contact with ghosts.
The Occultist is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is available to wishlist on Steam.
