Publisher MicroProse and developers Not Knowing Corporation (formerly Cfinger Games) have announced the release date and development model for their nostalgic helicopter shooter Cleared Hot, in the spirit of the classic Desert Strike.
The game brings classic aerial combat to the next generation, offering a fully physics-based control model, helicopter upgrades, and the most versatile magnetic tether system in the history of the genre. Players will be able to intercept missiles mid-air, tow tanks, and, if they so choose, accidentally drop their squad from a height of 60 meters. In the world of Cleared Hot, even chickens and explosive barrels obey the laws of physics—albeit not always realistically.
The developers promise dynamic gameplay, where each mission is played out in a new way. Players will battle across three biomes—desert, jungle, and arctic—with unique enemies and dangers. The helicopter can be upgraded to suit your personal style: fly stealthily or noisily, carefully or with maximum destruction.
Cleared Hot will be released in 2025, but not in its entirety: on November 20th, the game will enter Steam Early Access. The announcement was accompanied by a rich, 47-second gameplay trailer.
