American publisher and developer Aspyr Media (owned by Embracer Group) has announced the postponement of the release of Deus Ex Remastered, an updated version of the legendary stealth role-playing shooter Deus Ex from Ion Storm.

We don’t know how long we’ll have to wait, but the remastered version will definitely be released after February 5, 2026, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Gamers who pre-ordered will receive a full refund.

Many people disliked the remaster’s debut trailer. Gamers were particularly confused by the “improved” graphics. Even the art director of the original action RPG responded to the announcement by saying, “This shouldn’t have happened.”

The classics have fans with high expectations that are difficult to meet. However, even casual players recognize the problems and rawness of the material the developers have already shown. So, some extra time certainly wouldn’t hurt.

Deus Ex Remastered is being developed for PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X, S, and Nintendo Switch. The story follows augmented UNATCO agent JC Denton in 2052 as he embarks on a mission that proves to be a turning point in human history.
