First Trailer And Details For “Life is Strange: Reunion”

Credit: Square Enix

As expected, on January 20th, publisher Square Enix and developer Deck Nine Games officially unveiled Life is Strange: Reunion, the next game in the acclaimed adventure series.

Life is Strange: Reunion takes place at Caledon University. Max Caulfield learns of an impending devastating fire and has only three days to save everyone. Chloe Price comes to her aid. Hannah Tell (Max) and Rianna DeVries (the voice of Chloe from Before the Storm) return.

A key feature of the game will be its integration of both endings of the first game. The developers explained this through the narrative: after the events of Double Exposure, where Max merged realities to save Safi, her memories became confused. Now Chloe remembers fragments of both realities—her death in the toilet and the destruction of Arcadia Bay. Dialogues in the game will directly depend on the choices you made 10 years ago.

Gameplay Features:

  • Players will alternate between controlling Max and Chloe.
  • Max’s classic Rewind Time feature has returned, allowing her to correct dialogue errors and avoid danger. A new feature is the ability to transfer objects from the future to the past.
  • Chloe doesn’t possess magic, but uses the Backtalk mechanic familiar from Before the Storm. With it, she can infiltrate restricted areas and extract information.
  • Your choices from the first Life is Strange will directly influence dialogue in the new game. These choices can be determined in-game, as you progress through the game.

Life is Strange: Reunion is expected to release on March 26, 2026, on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X, and S. Pre-orders are now open ($40 for the standard edition).
