Studio Mac n Cheese Games has announced ‘Dust till Dawn’, an unusual game that blends a relaxing cleaning simulator with paranormal horror inspired by Japanese manga and the work of Junji Ito.
The events of ‘Dust till Dawn’ unfold in a suspiciously quiet, fictional Japanese village where a mysterious dust has begun to appear in homes, shops, and public spaces.
Playing as a new maid, you must accept cleaning assignments—sweeping, wiping, washing, and meticulously tidying up every room—all while avoiding prying questions and trying not to stay too late.
“The longer you stay at work, the greater the potential reward. But the higher the likelihood, too, of encountering something inexplicable and terrifying,” the developers warn.
According to Mac n Cheese Games, *Dust till Dawn* combines the meditative satisfaction of cleaning games with the oppressive atmosphere and surreal imagery characteristic of the works of horror manga artists like Junji Ito.
Dust till Dawn will be released on PC via Steam in 2027. A specific release date has not yet been announced. The game is being developed and published by Mac n Cheese Games. It is a single-player game that combines elements of simulation, adventure, cozy gaming, and psychological horror.
