Asus has unveiled the ROG Strix XG32UCG gaming monitor. The company will showcase the new product at CES 2025 in early January next year. The special feature of this 31.5-inch monitor is its support for two operating modes: 4K at 160 Hz and Full HD at 320 Hz.
The ROG Strix monitor features an IPS panel that delivers fast 4K or 1080P display. According to ASUS, this monitor supports two modes (called “Dual-Mode”), offering either 4K at 160Hz or 1080P at 360Hz. Dual-mode monitors aren’t exactly common yet, but they fill a niche by providing an interesting option for gamers who switch between high-fidelity single-player games and fast-paced E-Sports titles. According to ASUS, the monitor supports FreeSync Premium technologies and is G-SYNC Compatible, as well as VESA VRR. The monitor features DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 (some media outlets claim it supports DP 2.1, but ASUS hasn’t confirmed this). There’s also a USB Type-C port, but its power is limited to 15W.
The company also notes that the XG32UCG is equipped with Dynamic Crosshair and Dynamic Shadow Boost AI technologies, as well as Aura backlighting. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the cost of the new product.
