Canadian studio Bioware showed 10 minutes of gameplay of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The studio demonstrated gameplay for a high-level warrior who can both fight in close combat and use special skills.
The 10-minute gameplay video for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, divided into four parts, showed preparation for battle, the character’s primary and special abilities, and interactions with companions in combat. Dragon Age: The Veilguard offers three classes to choose from (warrior, mage, rogue), but for the purposes of the demonstration, only the warrior from the “Champion” branch was used (the other two are “Executioner” and “Reaper”), which is focused on confronting the creatures of darkness.
All three classes have access to four basic moves (light and heavy attacks, jump, dodge), a ranged attack, and blocks (and parries). Attacks can be charged, and also performed while running and jumping. Players can also give orders to companions – the skill wheel pauses the battle, tells you the vulnerabilities and resistances of enemies. Enemy armor is indicated by a yellow bar, and the level of stun is purple.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Releases October 31st on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
