Rumors about a potential new Blizzard project have recently been revived. The reason for this was one of the job postings.
Users have noticed that a design director is needed to work on an open-world shooter.
“As a Design Innovation Director, you’ll be the visionary and architect of key strategic innovations for an upcoming open-world shooter,” the job description reads.
It’s unclear what exactly Blizzard is working on, but Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier recently reported that a new StarCraft-based shooter is in the incubation (i.e. very early) stage at the company. The small team is allegedly led by former Far Cry executive producer Dan Hay, who joined Blizzard to work on Project Odyssey. After the survival simulator was cancelled, the specialist seems to have taken on a new project.
