Developers from the GSC Game World studio have finally presented a plan for improvements to their post-apocalyptic open-world shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl for the rest of 2025.

The team’s main task for the near future is to transfer S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 to the new version of the Unreal Engine 5 – 5.5.4. The upgrade will expand the capabilities of the developers and contribute to further optimization of the game.

The studio plans to introduce night vision items, which will allow players to explore the Zone’s gloomy locations from a new perspective. The A-Life system will receive serious improvements, promising more realistic and unpredictable NPC behavior. Players can also expect new anomalies and dynamic weather conditions, designed to enhance the immersion effect. In addition, the stamina mechanics will be reworked, the equipment interface will be updated, and the modding tools will be improved. Although not all planned updates may be released before the end of the year, the developers assure that they will make every effort to implement all the declared improvements.

GSC Game World emphasized that they will try their best to implement the listed innovations before the end of 2025, but allowed for the postponement of functions to a later date due to the “instability of the Zone.”
