Bethesda Softworks and id Software have released the Doom + Doom 2 collection, which combines enhanced versions of the two original games. It is available on various platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

New improvements include:
- Co-op, Mortal Kombat with support for up to 16 players and crossplay;
- Mod support and a built-in browser – owners of PCs and current-gen consoles will be able to download modifications;
- IDKFA soundtrack for both games (including new tracks for Doom 2), recorded by composer Andrew Hulshult. Original melodies in MIDI format are also available;
- Increased performance thanks to multi-threaded rendering with support for resolutions up to 4K;
- Doom and Doom 2 have been ported to the KEX engine from Nightdive;
It is worth noting that a new part of the shooter, Doom: The Dark Ages, is currently in development and will be released in 2025. The game will be more “cinematic” than its predecessors and will return to its roots.
