A whole hour of gameplay from the upcoming ant strategy game Empire of the Ants from Microids has appeared online.
Empire of the Ants is being developed by the French studio Tower Five, founded by veterans of Creative Assembly (the Total War series). The authors took the 1991 novel “Ants” by French writer Bernard Werber as a basis. Controlling a rescue ant named 103,683, players will develop a colony, collect resources, hunt, fight spiders, praying mantises and other insects, and form alliances. You will have to adapt to changing conditions depending on the season. At the beginning of the game, users are engaged in creating an economy and an army, building defensive structures and obtaining intelligence about the enemy. By sending worker ants into the forest, they will receive food and materials, as well as capture new territories and build hives – all structures have limited expansion capabilities. Having prepared thoroughly, you can attack your opponent (in the video, these are termites), but you can’t hesitate – waiting too long will result in the enemy attacking first.
The game will be released on November 7 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
