The shooter La Quimera, an ambitious debut from Reburn, formerly 4A Games Ukraine, was supposed to be released today, April 25. However, this did not happen, and in the official Discord channel, veterans of the Metro series announced a delay. The game currently has no release date.
In a message posted on the team’s Discord server, Reburn head Dmitry Lymar (former director of 4A Games) apologized for the sudden delay and cited unforeseen issues as the reason. “Our Reburn team has been working hard on the game, but since this is our first project as an independent developer, we encountered unforeseen issues,” Lymar explained in the message.
La Quimera was criticized for its ridiculous length (three story missions for $30), superficial gameplay, unclear script, unprofessional English voice acting, and abundance of bugs of varying severity.
Critics also note that the actual quality of graphics has nothing in common with what was promised in the screenshots on Steam, and the game puts a lot of strain on even top-end processors, bringing them to 100% load regardless of the settings.
It’s hard to say whether a team of over 100 people can handle all these issues and how long it will take them.
