New Major Patch Brings Over 1200 Improvements to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Following the February 1.2, the post-apocalyptic shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl from the developers at GSC Game World received another impressive patch with more than 1000 fixes.

Update 1.3 has been released on PC and Xbox consoles. The patch contains over 1,200 changes and improvements to all aspects of the game, including balance, story progression, sound, performance, AI, the A-Life life simulation system, and more.

Some changes:

  • Added several new death screens;
  • Improved facial animation in story missions;
  • Improved sound positioning;
  • Added a new musical composition for the Terricon (can be heard at night);
  • Added a new musical composition for the NIICHAZ (can be heard in the elevator);
  • Improved bullet marks;
  • Improved visibility of enemies at night;
  • Improved shadows cast by the player’s flashlight;
  • Improved NPC movement and shooting animations;
  • Added the ability to change the melee attack button in the settings;
  • Added additional idle animations for NPCs with weapons in their hands;
  • Mutant movements in combat have become smoother;
  • Improved NPC reaction to the sound of footsteps;
  • Fixed a bug due to which mutants did not attack other NPCs;
  • Artifact characteristics have been rebalanced;
  • Damage from anomalies has been reworked;
  • Damage from explosive objects has been increased;
  • The durability of unique weapons has been increased.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released on November 20, 2024 on PC, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. In addition to future patches, two large story add-ons are also being prepared for the game
