Nintendo boasted that more than 3.5 million Switch 2 units have already been sold worldwide. This result was achieved in just 4 days since the start of sales.
Nintendo called this achievement the best among all the company’s devices.
Given that Nintendo expects to sell 15 million Switch 2 units in the fiscal year ending March 2026, selling more than 20% of that number in just four days gives the company a positive outlook for the coming months. Nintendo’s ability to sell that many Switch 2s will depend more on production volumes than on demand per se.
The importance of the debut of Nintendo’s first new console in eight years was underscored by the measures it took ahead of the launch to combat scalpers.
Switch 2 sales started on June 5th simultaneously all over the world. Switch 2 is priced at $450 or €470.
