Larian Studios has released another hotfix for Baldur’s Gate III. It addresses issues that unexpectedly appeared in the game after the previous patch.

According to Larian, the February patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 caused a number of performance issues that resulted in game crashes. The developers thanked users for their patience and released a fix.

Update 4.1.1.7209685 has now been released on all target platforms for Baldur’s Gate 3 and brings fixes for the aforementioned frame rate drops, a number of crashes, and critical bugs.

Specifically, the patch fixed an issue that prevented Baldur’s Gate 3 users on Mac computers from progressing beyond character creation in the hardcore Valor mode.

The patch is approximately 100 MB in size, but Baldur’s Gate 3 users are forced to download tens of gigabytes—the fix affects many files that must be redownloaded.

As a reminder, Baldur’s Gate 3 received its last major update in April 2025. A sequel series is also on the way, with HBO and Craig Mazin (The Last of Us, Chernobyl) producing the series.
