Monolith’s action-horror game Condemned: Criminal Origins has been removed from Steam and the Xbox Store. Sega, the game’s publisher, has not yet commented on the decision.
Many saw this as a hint at a remaster, and here’s why. Last spring, Nightdive Studios, known for countless classic remasters, expressed its desire to release a “modernized” version of Condemned.
Furthermore, a week ago, the studio released an interview with Jace Hall, co-founder of Monolith, the developer of the horror game. Incidentally, the company closed earlier this year.
Another important point is that Hall is now the sole owner of the rights to Condemned. He also expressed hope for the series’ revival in some form.

Condemned: Criminal Origins tells the story of FBI agent Ethan Thomas, a member of the Serial Crime Unit. After being accused of murdering two police officers, he sets out to find the real culprit.
