Paralives Delays Early Access Release Until 2026

Canadian developers Paralives Studio, led by game designer Alex Masse, have announced a forced delay in the early access release date of their life simulator Paralives.

The delay pushes the release back from December 8th, originally scheduled earlier this year. It came after the team expanded testing to include a more diverse group of players, which revealed issues the small studio felt couldn’t be ignored. Alex Massé, creator and lead developer, explained the decision in a detailed statement aimed at clarifying both the current state of the project and the broader ambitions behind it.

Issues included bugs in Live Mode and a noticeable lack of entertainment on the city map. While playtesters explored the charming interiors, character interactions, and flexible building tools, the developers concluded that the simulation layer—the component that ties these systems together—needed more time. Without a proper daily routine, varied interactions, and meaningful consequences in the city, the game would be unable to support the stories players expect to create.

They promise a life-long simulation, a vibrant open world, extensive character editing capabilities, a flexible building system, diverse career paths, and mod support.
