In particular, the team implemented the promised improvements to AI and the A-Life system, including more realistic behavior of NPCs in combat, who learned to eat corpses and respond to mutant threats, and more complex and dynamic shootouts.

Other notable changes in patch 1.4:

  • Increased variety of generated NPC appearances;
  • Melee combat on Stalker and Veteran difficulty levels has become more difficult;
  • A new weapon characteristic has been added – handling;
  • Facial animation improvements;
  • Performance improvements, including light/shadow optimization in several locations and CPU usage;
  • New animations and sound effects have been added for deaths from electricity, acid, bullets, and rat bites;
  • Blood will no longer ooze out of sausages when shot;
  • Ducks will no longer fly into the water when shot at.

Let us recall that the previous major patch was released in March and included more than 1200 fixes. GSC Game World continues to actively improve S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, making the game more stable and deeper.
