On May 6, Rockstar Games released the second trailer for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI without any prior announcements, delighting fans. The video, published on the company’s official YouTube channel, collected more than 45 million views in the first 14 hours.
Let’s recall that the debut trailer for GTA VI in December 2023 set a world record for the number of views in the first 24 hours on YouTube (more than 90 million) for non-music videos.
The second trailer for GTA VI in the first 24 hours on YouTube collected “only” 75 million views, however, unlike the first video, it is available not only on Google’s video hosting service – the total figure for all platforms was 475 million.
According to Rockstar, the launch of the second GTA VI trailer has become the most successful of all videos on the Internet. For comparison: the trailer for the action movie Deadpool and Wolverine is considered the record holder in the film industry with 365 million views in the first day.
The game, originally scheduled for Fall 2025, has been pushed back to May 26, 2026. GTA VI will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a PC version expected later.
