Mega Crit Studios has finally set an Early Access release date for the card roguelike Slay the Spire 2: March 5th. The announcement was accompanied by a colorful, cartoonish trailer.
Slay the Spire 2 was slated for an Early Access debut in late 2025, but last fall Mega Crit confirmed the game’s delay to March 2026.
As it turns out, Slay the Spire 2 will enter Steam Early Access on Thursday, March 5th. A full release is expected within two years. The announcement was accompanied by a rich animated trailer.
The video is nearly two and a half minutes long and, in addition to Slay the Spire 2’s Steam Early Access release date, confirms the return of the fan-favorite character from the first game (Defect) and the addition of co-op.
“Try conquering the Spire solo or with up to four players in the new co-op mode. <…> Lead your team to victory! Or maybe your team will lead you to victory?” the creators suggest.
The price is still unknown, but anyone interested can add the game to their wishlist.
