At the Digital Dragons 2025 event, new details about the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 unexpectedly emerged — and the source of the leak was Mike Pondsmith himself, the creator of the Cyberpunk universe. In an interview for the Polish YouTube channel TVGRY, he spoke about his involvement in Project Orion, a future continuation of the story of Night City, and accidentally hinted at the appearance of a new metropolis as part of the sequel. According to Pondsmith, he is less actively involved in the development of Orion than in the case of Cyberpunk 2077, but still constantly keeps in touch with CD Projekt Red, getting acquainted with scripts and other developments for the game.
