Nintendo Confirms Record-Breaking Switch 2 Reveal Length

Nintendo has shared new details about the Nintendo Direct presentation, which will feature the Switch 2 console in full, and announced two more streams showcasing games for it. As it became known, the duration of the upcoming Nintendo Direct broadcast with details of Switch 2 will be about 60 minutes, which is a record in the history of such informational broadcasts by Nintendo. Soon after, on April 3 and 4, there will be two Nintendo Treehouse presentations, featuring hands-on gameplay of Switch 2 games. American electronics retailer Best Buy has published a post about the start of the Nintendo Direct presentation. In the same post, the chain's representatives indicated that pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will start on April 2. The date coincides with another Nintendo Direct presentation, which will be entirely dedicated to the Switch 2 console. In 2020, a prototype of the never-released Nintendo PlayStation gaming console sold for $360,000. Now, a gamepad for the device has sold for $35,000 at Heritage Auctions. That's a staggering amount for an item that looks like a Super Nintendo controller but has Sony and PlayStation logos on the body. The device is designed using the familiar Super Nintendo controller body, but features the signature Sony PlayStation lettering in dark gray on the front and the same color Sony PlayStation Controller lettering on the back.
