In January, a rumor circulated online that Rockstar and Take-Two were planning to delay the physical release of Grand Theft Auto VI to 2027 to avoid leaks and spoilers. However, as Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated during his latest investor earnings call, the new Grand Theft Auto will be released on physical media alongside the digital version on November 19, 2026.

“We’re looking forward to a breakout fiscal year for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry, led by Grand Theft Auto VI, which launches on November 19th,” Zelnick assured in a press release.

At IGN’s request, Take-Two’s CEO also commented on his confidence in the release date for GTA VI: “I’m confident. Extremely confident.” It’s worth noting that Zelnick’s confidence doesn’t prevent the game from being delayed.

GTA VI will take place in the Florida-inspired state of Leonidas, and players will assume the role of outlaws Jason and Lucia. The game promises “the largest and most realistic world” in the series’ history.

Grand Theft Auto VI is announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No official information about a PC version has been released from the developers, but fans sincerely believe the game won’t remain a console exclusive for long.
