Three and a half years ago, developers Crystal Dynamics announced a new Tomb Raider game, and it looks like its full reveal will take place this week.
None other than The Game Awards organizer Geoff Keighley announced the upcoming release immediately after a similar announcement appeared on Fortnite’s TGA partner island.
The next Tomb Raider was officially confirmed in April 2022. The project is positioned as a single-player, story-driven adventure, continuing the story of the “confident and multifaceted” Lara Croft.
The game will offer world exploration, “mind-blowing puzzles,” and enemy diversity, “taking the narrative to a new level,” and will be the biggest “and best” in the series.
Officially, the as-yet-untitled Tomb Raider is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and has no release date. Development was in the early stages in the fall of 2022. Amazon Games will publish.
The Game Awards 2025 broadcast begins on December 12. In addition to major announcements and world premieres, the ceremony will also honor the best games of the past year.
