Facepunch Studios announced that s&box, a sandbox game and spiritual successor to Garry’s Mod powered by the Source 2 engine, will be released on April 28th. The game will be available exclusively on Steam.
Like Garry’s Mod, S&Box offers the opportunity to play, create, and share your creations with the world. The sandbox includes powerful tools for creating and distributing games across a wide range of genres.
Users will be able to monetize their products directly on the platform or release them on Steam. The studio’s recent agreement with Valve will allow games exported from S&Box to be sold on Steam without any restrictions or royalties from Facepunch.
S&Box will cost $20, the same as Garry’s Mod. The developers have promised not to increase the price even after the game’s release.
