Mortal Shell 2, a brutal open-world action RPG from Playstack and American studio Cold Symmetry, doesn’t yet have a release date, but we won’t have to wait long.
Mortal Shell II will be a full-fledged sequel to the first Mortal Shell, significantly expanding the original game’s universe. The sequel will offer dynamic combat, deep weapon customization, and an emphasis on free exploration. The map is spacious yet compact—the game gradually reveals its jagged landscapes and hidden corners, never forcing the player to waste time.
The standard and deluxe Devout Editions are available for pre-order. Pre-purchase either version will receive the Bone Harbinger and Obsidian Harbinger skins. The higher-end edition includes eight obsidian skins and early access “up to 72 hours” before the official release. A physical edition for PS5 will also be released, featuring an artbook, photo cards, a steelbook, and a collector’s box.
According to data miner intercelluar, Mortal Shell 2 will be released on August 20, 2026, for PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. An official release date is expected before the end of this summer.
