Renowned gaming insider Tom Henderson has reignited interest in the return of one of the most beloved installments in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. In the latest episode of the Insider Gaming podcast, he confirmed that the project, dubbed Black Flag Resynced, is in the final stages of development.

The game’s official presentation is scheduled for mid-April. It appears Ubisoft is preparing a separate digital event or a short teaser trailer.

Tom Henderson notes that the current release window for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is summer 2026. He doesn’t know the exact release date, nor does he specify a specific month.

Furthermore, Tom Henderson still doesn’t have any precise details about what changes Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will feature compared to the original. Previous rumors suggested the game would be a large-scale remake, featuring a wealth of new content and a significant overhaul of the naval combat mechanics. It was also reported that the game would utilize the dynamic weather system previously introduced in Shadows.

Previously, reports surfaced online that Ubisoft Singapore (creators of the long-suffering Skull and Bones) is working on an update to Edward Kenway’s adventures, using its water technology to improve the original 2013 game.

If this information is confirmed, it’s going to be a hot summer for fans of hidden blades and pirate rum.
