EA Releases Final Update for The Sims Mobile And Announces Game’s Imminent Closure

Credit: Electronic Arts The Sims Mobile has had a long and eventful life, but now its story is coming to an end. Electronic Arts has confirmed that the October 20th update is the project's final one. The game will be permanently shut down on January 20, 2026. Starting January 6, 2026, the developers will unlock all home customization items (Build Mode) and character customization items (Create A Sim), and on January 20 the servers will be shut down, making the game unavailable to everyone. All remaining SimCoins, Simoleons, and tickets are recommended to be spent by January 20, otherwise they will be lost forever. One of the new storylines involves the conductor on the train at the very beginning of the game. It's expected that this character will play a more important role than in the original. For example, in one scene, he asks Rebecca Chambers to help stop the train from running away, but then betrays her and locks her in with a horde of zombies before escaping. In The Occultist, paranormal investigator Alan Rebels is forced to travel to the mysterious island of Godstone, formerly a haven for a terrifying cult.
