Developers Kwalee Labs have set a release date for Luna Abyss, an adventure shooter with horror and platformer elements.
Luna Abyss will be released on May 21st on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. The trailer announcing the release date evoked specific associations among players. “A gothic version of Returnal,” wrote user DreadOfKnightFX.
You play as Fawkes, a prisoner sent to a massive megastructure buried beneath a mimic moon known as Luna. Your goal is to recover lost technology and explore a lost colony consumed by something called the Void. An artificial intelligence overseer named Eileen will monitor your progress throughout the mission.
The game takes place in the ruins of Greymont, a once-thriving city linked to mysterious entities such as the Scourge, the Allfather, and the Collective.
Gameplay emphasizes mobility and precision. Movement involves running, jumping, and dashing through large-scale environments, and combat is bullet-hell style.
