Multi-Frame Generation From Nvidia DLSS 4 May Be Added To Older GeForce RTX Graphics Cards

One of the exclusive features of the GeForce RTX 50 series of video cards introduced in January is support for multi-frame generation or Multi Frame Generation. The technology will become available with the release of DLSS 4 and will greatly increase the number of fps in games.

Since its debut in 2018, Nvidia’s deep learning scaling (DLSS) technology has evolved to its fourth version. Its latest iteration has moved to a transformer-type AI model, which has enabled a number of new features, including Multi Frame Generation (MFG), which creates up to three additional frames for every traditionally rendered frame to increase FPS.

In the future, Multi Frame Generation may also be available to owners of older RTX cards, such as the GeForce RTX 30. Nvidia vice president Brian Catanzaro admitted this possibility in a conversation with Digital Foundry.

The first GeForce RTX 50 models will be available for purchase on January 30. First, buyers will have the opportunity to purchase the flagship RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, which is much simpler and noticeably cheaper – $999 instead of $1999. Then the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 will appear in stores.
