During today’s stream, Arrowhead Games Studios announced a port of Helldivers 2 for Xbox Series.
Since the release of Helldivers 2, more than 130,000 people, including Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, have spoken out in favor of porting the game to Xbox, but the developers have been slow to port it.
Until now, Helldivers 2 has only been available on PC and PlayStation 5, where it was released in February 2024. The game has become one of Sony’s most successful multiplayer releases, with over 458,000 concurrent players on Steam at its peak.
“We need more Helldivers. We need more recruits,” proclaimed the minute-long gameplay trailer for Helldivers 2 that accompanied the Xbox versions’ announcement.
According to Helldivers 2 development lead Mikael Eriksson, the team is excited to bring the game to a new audience: “The more players, the more stories we can tell! The battle for Super Earth has only just begun.”
The release is scheduled for August 26, 2025. Pre-orders are now available on the Xbox digital store, with the standard edition priced at $40. The game will be published by PlayStation.
