Sony Unlocks Almost All of Its Steam Games for Countries Without PSN
Following the success of Stellar Blade, Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided to unlock its games on Steam for regions where the PlayStation Network service was previously unavailable.
The company introduced a regional block for users of the Valve service in May 2024, restricting access to the shooter Helldivers 2. After that, the publisher PlayStation Publishing LLC stopped releasing other new products in places where a PSN account cannot be officially registered. When making the decision to close access to its products for PC users from a huge number of countries, Sony explained the requirement to link PSN by the need to "maintain order and security."
