When Tides Turn, the studio founded by Criterion Games (Burnout, Need for Speed Unbound) co-founder Fiona Sperry, announced
Wreckreation 2. This open-world racing game is also a sequel to last year’s Wreckreation.
Wreckreation 2 takes place in the open world of Heartbreak City. Along its wide streets and winding overpasses, players will race, eliminate opponents, and take risks—just like in Burnout Paradise.
The key to victory in Wreckreation 2 isn’t just the fastest line. It’s also about reading your opponents, choosing the right moment to attack, fighting for every position, and being willing to take risks that others wouldn’t.
According to Sperry, Wreckreation 2 is the result of six months of direct dialogue with gamers about what they want from a modern arcade racing game: “We’re making a game not just for the players, but together with them.”
Wreckreation 2 is being developed for Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. Release dates are currently unknown.
