The changes recently announced by Microsoft Gaming’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, to the popular Xbox subscription service, Game Pass, didn’t take long to come to fruition.
The Ultimate plan will be reduced from $30 to $23 per month, and the PC Game Pass version will cost $14 instead of $16.50 per month.
Furthermore, the company announced it will discontinue the practice of adding new Call of Duty games to the subscription on release day. Now, Call of Duty titles will be added to the catalog at a delayed time, approximately one year after their release, during the holiday shopping season.
Xbox clarified that games already available in the series will remain in the library, along with other titles on the service. Therefore, the next installment, rumored to be in development, will not be included in Game Pass at the same time as its release.
As a reminder, Call of Duty has been available on Game Pass since 2024, when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was released. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will therefore be the last current game in the series on the service.
